Our Classes

Bliss Yoga

Hatha yoga is the physical practice of yoga. Bliss yoga incorporates asana, breathing techniques, and mindfulness to assist in bringing balance. Classes will range from a gentle practice to a slow flow. Asana variations are offered and props are encouraged. Yoga is for every “Body”! Wear comfortable clothes. We use a yoga mat and sometimes a yoga block and yoga blanket. All props are provided by the Studio. All levels.

Feel Good Chair Yoga

This class is designed for seniors, people with physical challenges and anyone wanting a slower paced exercise program. Practiced in a chair, the yoga poses and physical sequences focus on stretching, strength and flexibility. Yoga promotes the well-being of body, mind and spirit. We never force ourselves into pain or discomfort. The movements help to release tension and stress leaving you feeling energized, yet more relaxed. In chair yoga, you reap all of the benefits of yoga. Class begins with a few moments of quiet centering, a warmup and some stretching. We emphasize the importance of good posture and safe movement of the spine and joints. Sometimes we use yoga props such as a yoga block, a yoga strap and sometimes even a small pilates ball. All of these props are supplied by the Studio. Each class is slightly different, but with some repetition from previous classes to build your confidence as you become familiar with some of the yoga poses and stretches. This class embraces movement with your breath. Some classic hatha yoga poses are done seated and also standing while we hold the chair. We also work on balance and moving our body mindfully and safely. We close the class with a brief cool down followed by a nice, restful savasana. Chair yoga is for all regardless of age, experience or capability. Plus, we engage in lightheartedness and have fun!

Pranayama Yogic Breathing

Pranayama is one of the most important elements of our yoga practice. When we practice Pranayama, we use the breath to regulate the flow of life force energy or prana. In our daily lives, our breath often becomes quick and shallow especially when the busyness of the mind increases. This can lead to constricted breathing which reduces the flow of oxygen to the bloodstream and to the brain and may decrease our health. Proper breathing sends more oxygen to every single cell in your body, purifies the blood stream and helps increase healthy organ function. Perhaps even more important is the positive effect Pranayama has on our mind. With these breathing techniques, one can become both more energized and yet more calm and centered. Pranayama is an ancient technique that is timeless in its positive and immediate effect on improving our physical and emotional health. No experience necessary. All are welcome

Happy Seat Meditation

In these Guided Meditation sessions, participants will sit comfortably in a chair (option to sit on the floor) and be guided through 2 or 3 separate meditations, each about 12 minutes in length. We will have time to share our experiences and impressions before and after each meditation. Helpful meditation techniques will be explained so that participants can meditate at home between sessions, if desired. The entire meditation session lasts about 60 minutes. Our goal in meditation is to calm the mind so that we have more control of our thoughts, words and actions in our day-to-day life. This is a very gentle practice. No experience necessary. All are welcome.

Restorative Yoga

Restorative Yoga is all about relaxing. Relaxing starts with the body using gentle and passive stretches. Relaxing the body activates the parasympathetic branch of the nervous system (Rest and Digest). Relaxing the body and the nervous system allows the mind to relax. Gentle poses will be held for several minutes and props will be used to fully support the body. All props will be provided by the Studio. Expect to move and think more slowly afterwards. All levels.

Vinyasa Yoga

Vinyasa yoga emphasizes the sequential movement of postures, coordinated with and guided by deliberate breath. The vinyasa practice becomes a moving meditation that creates strength, freedom and fluidity in the body and mind. As we ride the waves of breath in our yoga practice, we learn to ride the waves of change in our lives with more ease. This class moves from pose to pose with each held for about 3-5 breaths. Expect a fully balanced class of forward bending, balances, twists, heart openers, core strength and hip openers. Modifications will be offered to allow all levels to join this practice.

Vin/Yin

The first half of the class is vinyasa yoga in which you will be guided through a dynamic sequence of yoga postures, synchronized with your breath, to create a harmonious union of movement, mindfulness, and relaxation. Vinyasa yoga, also known as "flow" yoga, offers a transformative experience that energizes and strengthens the body while calming the mind. After the flow, the class winds down into a more meditative and slow-paced style of yoga called Yin. Postures are held and supported by blankets and bolsters for 3 to 5 minutes. It’s a gentle stretch and nourishes an introspective practice. The instructor will provide options and modifications throughout, ensuring that everyone can participate and progress at their own pace. All props are provided by the Studio. This class welcomes practitioners of all levels, from beginner to experienced.

Yin

Yin yoga is a gentle and relaxing class that works deeply into the connective tissues and joints of the hips, pelvis, and lower spine through extended holds of postures. It is suitable for all levels of students. This is a great class for beginners or advanced students looking for a restful class that focuses on restoring flexibility and/or working deeply into joints and tissues that are stagnant from past injuries for repetitive motion. Necessary props such as bolsters, blocks, blankets and straps are provided by the Studio. All levels.

Yoga & Breathing

In the first 60 minutes we engage in a moderate vinyasa yoga practice, followed by 10 minutes of pranayama breath exercises and then conclude with a brief meditation. Although every class will include forward bending, balances, twists, heart openers, core strength and hip openers, each individual class will focus more strongly on one of these areas, while maintaining the balance by including asanas from the other areas. For example, one day the class may focus on heart opening postures while still including some forward folding, twists, core strength, balances and hip openers. On another day, the class may focus more on twists. In that way, the yogi is ensured of a well-rounded practice in every class while developing more proficiency in these individual areas.

Yoga and Meditation

Start your Sunday morning with this uplifting, gentle Hatha practice. We begin with some centering meditation to set the tone as we engage in a meaningful journey inward using the yoga asanas interspersed with gentle guided meditations. Conclude with a deep rest in savasana leaving you feeling refreshed and renewed. All levels.

Yoga for Osteoporosis

Give yourself one hour of slower paced yoga to open the body, connect with the breath and calm the mind. We will use Dr. Loren Fishman’s series of 12 yoga poses proven to strengthen muscles and improve bone health. While doing the yoga poses, we will focus on allowing the breath energy to move through and nourish our bodies. As a result, the mind will become more steady, calm and clear. Each session begins with a gentle warm-up and ends with 5 minutes of pure relaxation. Please wear comfortable loose-fitting clothing or yoga attire. We are all born with a natural inner peacefulness – through this practice we allow it to arise in our daily life. No experience necessary. All levels.

Yoga For Pain Relief

Yoga for pain relief aims to bring balance where there is imbalance. Lee Albert, NMT shares a series of poses, breath, and meditation geared towards pain free living. Prima shares these principles in this yoga class which is supported by breath work and meditation; thus offering you the opportunity to create more space and connection in your practice. Wear comfortable clothes. We use a yoga mat and sometimes a yoga block and yoga blanket. All props are provided by the Studio. All levels.

Hatha

Kim's Hatha yoga style offers detailed instructions and optional modifications in order to make the class level just right for you! This class is for beginners as well more seasoned yogis who will have the opportunity to enjoy more advanced asanas (yogic postures). Sun salutations are common warm-ups and postures are often held for 3-5 breaths. In this class, you will be offered an opportunity for mindfulness meditation, as well as asanas with Pranayama (breath exercises). A deep constructive rest or guided relaxation will complete your experience, leaving you with a greater sense of overall health, relaxation and renewal. All levels. Geri’s Hatha yoga style focuses on movement with breath, a wonderful way to cultivate our mind-body connection. We begin by settling into our space, then warm up our body which makes for an even better practice. Each class varies depending on the theme of the class. Asanas (yogic postures) will change, but a few may become very familiar. Expect a fun playlist, fun sequenced poses, a nice cool down followed by the necessary rest. Geri loves to incorporate the use of mudras, mantras, even a bit of focused meditation at times, as well as essential oils. Coming to class with the Zen teaching called a “beginner’s mind” is helpful to all, even seasoned yogis. I am only the tour guide – this is your yoga journey! All levels.
