Our Classes
Yoga & Breathing
In the first 60 minutes we engage in a moderate vinyasa yoga practice, followed by 10 minutes of pranayama breath exercises and then conclude with a brief meditation. Although every class will include forward bending, balances, twists, heart openers, core strength and hip openers, each individual class will focus more strongly on one of these areas, while maintaining the balance by including asanas from the other areas. For example, one day the class may focus on heart opening postures while still including some forward folding, twists, core strength, balances and hip openers. On another day, the class may focus more on twists. In that way, the yogi is ensured of a well-rounded practice in every class while developing more proficiency in these individual areas.
Restorative Yoga
Restorative Yoga is all about relaxing. Relaxing starts with the body using gentle and passive stretches. Relaxing the body activates the parasympathetic branch of the nervous system (Rest and Digest). Relaxing the body and the nervous system allows the mind to relax. Gentle poses will be held for several minutes and props will be used to fully support the body. All props will be provided by the Studio. Expect to move and think more slowly afterwards. All levels.
Vinyasa Yoga
Vinyasa yoga emphasizes the sequential movement of postures, coordinated with and guided by deliberate breath. The vinyasa practice becomes a moving meditation that creates strength, freedom and fluidity in the body and mind. As we ride the waves of breath in our yoga practice, we learn to ride the waves of change in our lives with more ease. This class moves from pose to pose with each held for about 3-5 breaths. Expect a fully balanced class of forward bending, balances, twists, heart openers, core strength and hip openers. Modifications will be offered to allow all levels to join this practice.
Yoga and Meditation
Start your Sunday morning with this uplifting, gentle Hatha practice. We begin with some centering meditation to set the tone as we engage in a meaningful journey inward using the yoga asanas interspersed with gentle guided meditations. Conclude with a deep rest in savasana leaving you feeling refreshed and renewed. All levels.
Yoga for Osteoporosis
Give yourself one hour of slower paced yoga to open the body, connect with the breath and calm the mind. We will use Dr. Loren Fishman’s series of 12 yoga poses proven to strengthen muscles and improve bone health. While doing the yoga poses, we will focus on allowing the breath energy to move through and nourish our bodies. As a result, the mind will become more steady, calm and clear. Each session begins with a gentle warm-up and ends with 5 minutes of pure relaxation. Please wear comfortable loose-fitting clothing or yoga attire. We are all born with a natural inner peacefulness – through this practice we allow it to arise in our daily life. No experience necessary. All levels.
Yoga For Pain Relief
Yoga for pain relief aims to bring balance where there is imbalance. Lee Albert, NMT shares a series of poses, breath, and meditation geared towards pain free living. Prima shares these principles in this yoga class which is supported by breath work and meditation; thus offering you the opportunity to create more space and connection in your practice. Wear comfortable clothes. We use a yoga mat and sometimes a yoga block and yoga blanket. All props are provided by the Studio. All levels.
Feel Good Chair Yoga
This class is designed for seniors, people with physical challenges and anyone wanting a slower paced Yoga class. Practiced in a chair, the Yoga poses and physical sequences focus on stretching, strength and flexibility. The movements help to release tension and stress leaving you feeling energized, yet more relaxed. Class begins with a few moments of quiet centering to settle the mind followed by a gentle warmup. We emphasize the importance of good posture and safe movement of the spine and joints. Sometimes we use Yoga props such as a Yoga block or a Yoga strap. All of these props are supplied by the Studio. Each class is slightly different, but with some repetition from previous classes to build your confidence as you become familiar with the Yoga poses. Some classic Hatha Yoga poses are done seated and also standing while we hold the chair, thus allowing us to work on balance while moving our body mindfully and safely. Chair Yoga promotes the well-being of body, mind and spirit and we never force ourselves into pain or discomfort. Chair Yoga is for all regardless of age, experience or capability. Plus, we engage in lightheartedness and have fun!
Hatha
Hatha Yoga is about finding balance. In Sanskrit, "Ha" represents the sun and "tha" represents the moon, which can be thought of as the pairs of opposites in our lives such as: yin and yang; light and darkness, vigorous and gentle. In Hatha Yoga, we find the balance between exertion and relaxation by releasing tension stored in the body and deepening our connection with the breath. As a result, we create space in the body and the mind becomes more steady, calm and clear. The pace may be deliberate and purposefully slow to allow the holding of a pose a bit longer than in some other Yoga classes. Each class begins with a gentle warm-up and ends with 5 minutes of pure relaxation. We are all born with a natural inner peacefulness – through this practice we allow it to arise in our daily life. All levels.
FriYay! Yoga
TGIF! Unwind from the stress of the work week with yoga. This chill class celebrates freedom in your body and mind and nourishes your soul. All are welcome no matter about their yoga experience. Together we’ll leave it all at the door and step on the mat to move, breath, stretch, and relax our way into the weekend. In this restorative class, we’ll transition out of our busy life into a more calm state of pure being. All levels.
Morning Yin and Mindfulness
Morning Yin and Mindfulness begins with a gentle seated warm up to prepare your body for slow, floor stretches which allow the release of both muscle and deep connective tissues like fascia, ligaments, and joints. Each yin pose is held for a minimum of 3 minutes to allow the body time to lengthen and release. As you gently relax into each asana, you will be guided to use your breath and mind as tools to stay connected with the present moment. The last few minutes of class will go more deeply into a mindfulness practice using meditation, mantra, and/or breathwork to align the mind with the body for clarity and relaxation. This class is recommended for all levels.
Slow & Gentle Yoga
Slow down and create space with this peaceful practice with flowing poses and movement that stem from purposeful attention to the breath. These fluid movements increase flexibility and strength while calming the mind and body. This class is perfect for yogis new to Yoga practice or anyone seeking yummy stretches and a more relaxing class. All levels.
Power Yoga
Power Yoga combines the dynamic fluid movements of a Vinyasa class with poses designed to improve muscular strength and cardiovascular endurance. Power Yoga is a well rounded practice designed to ignite the fire within, raising both your heart rate and your spirit. This practice will build stamina, fitness, and overall health. Class will conclude with a cool down of stretching to both elongate and rejuvenate those hard working muscles. Modifications will be offered to allow various levels of ability. Some Yoga experience is recommended.
Sunset Core & Yin
A class for all levels, Sunset Core & Yin is designed to ignite your inner fire and guide you into deep release. Set in a warm, natural temperature - without air conditioning - you'll move with greater mobility, allowing for deeper stretches and enhanced flexibility. If needed, a fan can be turned on for gentle air circulation. We begin by activating the core, building strength from within to cultivate stability and resilience. As the class unfolds, we shift into longer held Yin poses, allowing the body to soften, release tension and fully unwind. This intentional combination of effort and ease creates the perfect transition into a restful night's sleep, leaving you feeling strong, open and deeply restored.
Vin/Yin
The first half of the class is vinyasa yoga in which you will be guided through a dynamic sequence of yoga postures, synchronized with your breath, to create a harmonious union of movement, mindfulness, and relaxation. Vinyasa yoga, also known as "flow" yoga, offers a transformative experience that energizes and strengthens the body while calming the mind. After the flow, the class winds down into a more meditative and slow-paced style of yoga called Yin. Postures are held and supported by blankets and bolsters for 3 to 5 minutes. It’s a gentle stretch and nourishes an introspective practice. The instructor will provide options and modifications throughout, ensuring that everyone can participate and progress at their own pace. All props are provided by the Studio. This class welcomes practitioners of all levels, from beginner to experienced
Mindful Movement
This class is based in the art forms of Yoga and Tai Chi, and it focuses on alignment for your body to allow for freedom of movement. We consciously look at our bodies in the poses to gain awareness of what is happening when we are practicing. Whether you are new to yoga and movement, or want to understand what muscles are working in your poses, or how to move the energy through your body, this class is for you.
Flow Into Yin
Begin your week with balance in this Monday 6 pm class. We'll start with a Vinyasa flow to move with breath and release tension, then transition into Yin postures to stretch deeply and invite stillness. All levels welcome.
